Upgrade Information for FACSys 4.9 Fax Messaging Gateway
Note to all customers requesting a FACSys 4.9 upgrade:
- License .dat files from previous versions of FACSys will not work with FACSys 4.9.
- FACSys 4.9 is supported on Microsoft Windows Server 2000 amd 2003.
- You will be provided with new license .dat files.
- All fulfillment is via electronic download.
- FACSys 4.9 introduces a new Channel License Model (along with an SBS and LITE Licensing model). There is no upgrade path from a Client Licensing Model to a Channel Licensing Model. Please contact emfastsales@emfast.com to discuss your requirements.
Your Upgrade Fulfillment will include:
- A New Server license .dat file for each server you own and have in your system.
- A Client License File for the total number of Client licenses that you own.
- A Gateway License for Exchange, Lotus Notes and/or Groupwise as required.
- A License for any HP Digital Sender or Xerox Document Centre that you are using.
The following conditions determine your eligibility to upgrade to FACSys 4.9 at no additional cost:
- You have an active F.A.S.T. Support Agreement.
- You purchased FACSys 4.8 after September 1, 2004.
- You are a FAR or FAD upgrading an NFR copy.
If you do not fit into the above category, you will be contacted to discuss one of the following options:
- Purchase a F.A.S.T. support agreement which includes the upgrade.
- Purchase FACSys 4.9 upgrade, with no support.
- NOTE: The prior purchase of a 4.8 'upgrade only' does not entitle you to the 4.9 upgrade.
Additional Notes:
- We can not provide any upgrade to customers who do not have valid Server and Client DAT serial numbers.
- We will accept proof of purchase, screen shots of your system and/or a Systems Diagnostics report.
- You may fax a systems diagnostics report to +1 (416) 208-6770 which will provide the relevant information we need to verify your entitlement.
- emFAST does not sell directly to end-users. We will forward your request to a FACSys Authorized Reseller (FAR) or an International FACSys Authorized Distributor (FAD).
- You may purchase a F.A.S.T. support agreement which includes the upgrade to 4.9 and any future version which may be released while your F.A.S.T. Agreement is in place.
- You may purchase a FACSys 4.9 upgrade, with no support and no entitlement to any future release.
- FACSys no longer includes the Outside-In Rendering Engine. The functionality previously provided by this add-on piece has been replaced by native rendering functionality now built-in to FACSys. Ask your representative for more information
- Read the online documentation before ordering your upgrade
Each FACSys 4.9 server must have its own unique license number. This is a major change from previous versions. Do not attempt to upgrade a multi-server environment unless you have license keys for all of your FACSys servers.
